HOW TO TREAT A BLOODY NOSE
If you get a nose bleed, do the following to get the bleeding under control faster.
Stay calm and take a breath: Did you know that a nose bleed can actually get worse when you’re stressed or anxious?
Lean forward: Putting your head back to stop a nose bleed is a myth. You want to lean forward because leaning back makes the blood drip down your throat and can cause vomiting or nausea.
Sit down: Lying down has the same effect as leaning your head back. So, find a comfy seat to wait out the nose bleed.
Pinch your nose: Use your index finger and thumb to pinch your nose for 10-15 minutes. Closing the nostrils creates pressure in the area that’s bleeding and helps nose bleeds stop sooner.
Ice your nose: Placing a cold compress on the bridge of the nose restricts the blood vessels and stops the blood flow.
